Trans-plaining started with conversations — the kind that are honest, messy, emotional, educational, sometimes funny, and often difficult. Conversations about transition, identity, healthcare, community, relationships, mental health, and what it really means to navigate life as a transgender person in a world that often expects simple answers to deeply personal experiences.
What began as a passion project quickly grew into something bigger: a platform dedicated to sharing stories, resources, perspectives, and information in a way that feels approachable and human. Too often, transgender topics are either overly clinical, sensationalized, or reduced to political talking points. Trans-plaining was created to help bridge that gap by creating space for real conversations between real people.
At its core, Trans-plaining is about education through connection. Whether that means interviewing specialists, speaking with members of the community, discussing personal experiences, or exploring complicated topics that don’t always have easy answers, the goal has always been the same: to create understanding, provide support, and help people feel less alone.
Daphne brings the heart behind the project — combining lived experience, curiosity, advocacy, creativity, and a passion for meaningful conversation. From podcast interviews to building community resources, the vision for Trans-plaining has always been to create something authentic, informative, and welcoming to anyone trying to learn, grow, or better understand themselves or others.
Alongside her is Bear, whose perspective, humor, curiosity, and willingness to learn help keep conversations grounded and approachable. While coming from a very different background, Bear shares the same passion for open dialogue and believes some of the best conversations happen when people are willing to listen, ask questions, and grow together.
Trans-plaining continues to evolve beyond just a podcast. It’s becoming a growing resource hub for healthcare information, transition resources, mental health support, surgery considerations, intimacy, preventative care, and community connection — all built with the understanding that no two journeys look the same.
We don’t claim to have every answer. What we do believe is that these conversations matter, that education should be accessible, and that everyone deserves a place where they can explore these topics without shame, fear, or judgment.
Thank you for being here and as always, Welcome to the Family.
